Trimester one – week 5?

So it’s my first pregnancy, and I’m approximately 5 weeks? the doctors aren’t quite sure how far I am, though, I have a very irregular cycle which is making it difficult to work out how far I am. 4 days ago I was taken to the early pregnancy unit at queens medical centre in Nottingham. 4 days ago I was taken to the early pregnancy unit at queens medical centre in Nottingham. I had sharp pains down the lower right side of my abdomen, light bleeding, similar to spotting, after speaking to the nurse practitioner on 111 they confirmed I should go quickly. The obvious fear of the worse came over me, panic attacks, constant crying but it was no use. They were useless to me, they left me in rooms for hours on end, alone, wondering what was wrong with me, they took their samples and wouldn’t tell me what for or what they were trying to find. It was the longest 7 hours of my life, getting judged, questioned, examined. Overall, I was left alone for a maximum 6 hours, 1 hour was time with doctors and examinations. The first examination was an internal exam where swabs were taken, a lot of deep breathing and swearing, goodness knows what labour will be like if I struggled with that.  The doctor, just told me what to do and just left me and said he’d come back when the results were okay.

So after more hours, he said they were fine, and then it was a scan… I obviously wasn’t expecting to see anything yet, but the idea still gave me butterflies, odd really it’s not even a person shape. I was even told I had ‘textbook ovaries’ which is a compliment I think? But the ladies who scanned me made me feel so much better, most of my time was spent with them, about half an hour checking everything over, couldn’t see anything with a normal scan so again, another internal scan, not as uncomfortable, though, which was such a relief. They said so far it was the size of a sesame seed, which gives the little ball of cells, sesame, (I’ll refer to them a lot as this). Thankfully they’re okay for now, another blood test was done to check levels of a ‘marker’ they were looking for a 66% increase or more which it was, it was 1489.. or something like that and it went to 3 thousand and something.  Have a scan on the 28th to see how far along I actually am since we have no idea.
